Felipe Escalante is a certified Feldenkrais® practitioner accredited by the Feldenkrais Guild of North America. Escalante studied with David Zemach-Bersin in New York and continues to receive mentorship from Sheryl Field. With experience teaching Dance, Yoga, Pilates, and athletic disciplines, as well as studies in physical therapy, Escalante brings a broad and practical understanding of movement to his work. He believes that many patterns of pain and misuse of the body arise from physiological factors that can be addressed through awareness and more efficient movement. His approach helps people cultivate comfort, coordination, and resilience.

The Feldenkrais Method ®

The Feldenkrais Method ® offers two main ways of learning: Awareness Through Movement ® (ATM) lessons and Functional Integration ® (FI) sessions. Both approaches share the same principles of gentle exploration, curiosity, and attention, but differ in how they are experienced. Together, they provide powerful opportunities to improve movement, reduce pain, and enhance overall well-being.

Awareness Through Movement® (ATM) – Online One-on-One Lessons

Functional Integration®
(FI) – In-Person

Awareness Through Movement® (ATM) lessons are usually taught in groups, but I offer them online in a private, one-on-one format. This allows me to guide you verbally through carefully structured sequences of movement while adapting the pace and focus to your individual needs.

In these lessons, you’ll explore gentle, often simple movements while paying close attention to how you sense and coordinate your body. By slowing down and noticing, you begin to recognize patterns that may limit you and discover easier, more efficient ways of moving.

Benefits of private online ATM lessons include:

Personalized attention in the comfort of your home

Improved flexibility and coordination

Reduced tension and discomfort

A calmer, more focused mind

Greater ease and efficiency in daily activities, creative practice, or athletic performance

Functional Integration® (FI) is the hands-on, one-on-one form of the Feldenkrais Method®. Unlike ATM lessons, which are guided with words, FI is experienced through gentle touch.

In an FI session, you lie on a padded table while I guide your body through small, precise movements. This non-invasive touch helps you sense how your whole body participates in movement, bringing awareness to unconscious patterns and opening the possibility for new, more efficient ways of moving.

Functional Integration® can be particularly supportive for:

Recovery from injury or surgery

Chronic pain and movement limitations

Musicians, dancers, and athletes refining their skills

Anyone seeking a deeply personal approach to improving comfort and function

Each session is unique, responding to where you are in the moment, and creating the conditions for learning and lasting change
